The past eight generations of the Masser family have been involved with
potato farming. Since our inception, Masser Potato
Farms has developed and implemented various ideals, technologies,
and programs which have helped advance the company to its present operating
status. Computer-controlled sprayers and planters, center pivot irrigation,
and a bruise reduction program are among common strategies seen at Masser
Potato Farms.
Pesticide Risk Reduction
At Masser Potato Farms, our pesticide risk reduction strategy encompasses
many different components. Scouting is done before any type of pesticide
is applied to limit use to only where it is necessary. During the application
process, calibrated computerized spray monitors are used on high-tech
sprayers utilizing low-drift nozzles. Along with high-tech equipment,
Masser Potato Farms requires all operators to receive certification and
updated yearly training.
